Victor meets his hero Andrea Bocelli
In December Victor was asked by Manchester City to attend a concert at the M.E.N Arena in Manchester to see his absolute hero and inspiration Andrea Bocelli
Victor has performed for Manchester City on several occasions and is a good friend of the honorary president Bernard Halford.
Victor has met and performed for many of the City legends including Roberto Mancini, Brian Kidd, Mike Summerbee and many more so when he was asked to see his musical hero it was a great honour. On the night Victor attended the concert with Bernard and karen Halford and also the chief executive Gary Cook and his wife.
The concert was amazing and Andrea was in fine voice, his accompaniment was a seventy piece orchestra and a two hundred member choir. The sound certainly had the goose bump factor, it was quite simply unbelievable and Victor was blown away. As the concert was coming to an end Bernard Halford asked Victor if he had enjoyed the concert and of course he said that it had been amazing, Bernard said that was a good job because they had arranged for him to meet Andrea at the end of the performance. As you can imagine this was totally unexpected and Victor was so excited by the prospect of meeting his musical hero.
After the final song, a beautiful rendition of his massive hit ‘ Time to say Goodbye ‘ Victor and Gary Cook were taken back stage by security and were asked to wait outside the dressing room of Andrea. After a short wait they were taken in and there he was, the legend Andrea Bocelli, this was a dream come true. Victor was shocked at how quiet and gently spoken he was, he had an amazing presence and Victor congratulated him on his fantastic performance and said what an honour it was to be meeting him, he told him what a massive influence he has had on his career. You can see in the picture the smile on Victor’s face, this didn’t leave for a long time afterwards, it truly was an unforgettable and inspirational experience for him.
